How VIVA started.
OUR STORY
VIVA Sports was born out of a simple idea: Prague is full of active people who want to play sport and meet others, but there wasn’t a great way to do both at the same time.
We started with a single beach volleyball league and a small group of players who wanted more than just a game. As the community grew, so did VIVA Sports. People kept coming back not only for the sport, but for the friendships, experiences, and sense of belonging created along the way.
Today, VIVA Sports is Prague’s largest social sports club, bringing people together through leagues, open play sessions, tournaments, and social events across the city all year round. From spring through winter, we create opportunities to stay active, meet new people, and be part of a community. And we’re only getting started.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND VIVA
Viktor Pančev
Player Support Coordinator
Viktor leads our player support team, making sure every question gets answered and every player enjoys a smooth experience both on and off the court. Fun fact: Viktor plays in the Czech Football League’s 3rd division for Motorlet Praha.
Matyas Mlejnek
Head of Open Play
Matyas leads our sport leagues, pickup soccer, and open play events creating teams, helping individuals join, and managing registration and finances. You’ll often find Matyas on the football pitch nutmegging everyone… or with a beer at the volleyball court. Favorite moment: Running the Tuesday pub quiz.
Javier Neruda
Head of Marketing
Javi is our creative brain, crafting funny, trendy Instagram reels and posts, and managing our Meta and Google ads. You’ll often find him with a camera, tripod, or microphone ready to capture the next great idea. Fun fact: Javi appeared on the reality TV show Farma.
Maxen Garagić
Head of Sport & Events
Max leads Viva’s leagues and corporate events planning, creating, and bringing them to life. He’s all about connecting people through sport and turning ideas into real experiences on and off the court. You’ll often find Max at the volleyball courts, making sure everything runs smoothly (or jumping into a game himself). Favorite moment: The Viva Futsal Tournament 2024.
Giulia Santangelo
Marketing Intern
Giulia is our Marketing and Management Intern and will be behind the volleyball league and open play sessions. You might even find her playing too. Fun fact: When she was a kid, she fell into a fountain with her bike.
Sharif Gamal
Marketing Intern
Sherif is our Marketing and Management intern and the main social media marketer for Viva Corporate.
Annette Lichacz
Social Media Intern
Anette is our Social Media Intern, focusing on content creation for our social media channels. Fun fact: She has visited 18 countries.
Pavel Čapek
Beach Volleyball Coach
Pavel brings over 8 years of professional coaching experience to our beach volleyball leagues. He speaks both English and Czech and is passionate about helping players improve their game while having fun on the sand.
